On Saturdays we’d empty all the wastebaskets into the garbage can and pack up the rusty green trailer. With BTO, Jimi Hendrix, Huey Lewis and Led Zeppelin playing from 105.7 WAPL, The Rockin Apple, we trekked to the dump. After throwing bottles into bins sorted by color, we’d go to Truman’s for Baumeister orange soda. When we got home he’d make us sandwiches, open the fridge looking for the Grey Poupon and ask “Want moose turds on yours?”
